Developing and Strengthening School-Based Crisis

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to review existing information regarding
school-based crisis response teams. More specifically, this article (a) summarizes key
points for school crisis teams, (b) identifies roles and responsibilities of the school
psychologist as a member of the crisis team, and (c) provides suggestions for
strengthening existing plans and teams. Additionally, a list of recommended resources for
developing and strengthening school-based crisis teams is provided.
