NASP Elections
The
2008 Election is now complete and
Patti Harrison
has been chosen as NASP President Elect for the 2008-09 school year and she will lead NASP as President during the 2009-10
year. Dr. Harrison is currently the coordinator of the
University of
Alabama’s
School Psychology Program. Patti’s
service to NASP spans almost 20 years. She is currently Chair of the
NASP Program Approval Board and past NASP positions include Delegate, Program
Manager (2), Chair of the Professional Development
Committee, Chair of the Children’s Services Committee, NCSP Board member, and
Editor of School Psychology Review. She represented NASP on the planning committee for the “2002 Future of School Psychology Conference” and was a
committee member for the 2000 revisions of NASP’s training, credentialing,
ethics, and practice standards and is a committee member for the upcoming 2010
revisions.
Jennifer Kitson was elected as the new Secretary for NASP starting
in July, 2008. She has worked
as a school psychology practitioner for 23+ years, and was recognized as School
Psychologist of the Year by NASP in 1999. Jennifer currently serves on the NASP Executive Council as Program
Manager for Advocacy and other NASP leadership positions include West
Central/Central Regional Director, Government and Professional Relations Committee
chair, Minority Scholarship Program Board, Education Research Trust Board, and
co-coordinator of the first two GPR Public Policy Institutes.
Seventeen
delegates were also elected during the month long election process. Congratulations to the successful candidates
